My name is Isabella Melano, I'm 21 years old and I've been studying Social Communications at UFMG since 2009. Right from the beginning of the course I knew that I wanted to graduate in Journalism. However, since my course gives me the possibility of applying for another major, I have now, at my sixth period, decided to also major in Radio and Television, as soon as I get my journalism degree. I chose to get both degrees because I´ve always intended to work on television's newscast.
I'm currently in an internship at UFMG's Television, where I work as a reporter and presenter. It has been a great experience so far. It's amazing to work on something you love. I'm so passionate about television journalism, that I've chosen it as the subject of my course conclusion's monography. Since I'm going to the USA on an exchange program next semester I intend/want to start writing my essay there. My research consists on a comparison between how the main international events are brodcasted by our nightly newscast Jornal Nacional, and an American. My focus on this project will be journalism fictionality -my favourite area of study. After I graduate, I want to work on television, wether as a producer, reporter or editor. But unfortunately it is a very competitive area of journalism, thus I wouldn´t mind working at a newspaper or a magazine.
Editor's note:
Isabella, I tried to review your biodata trying to give a less "coloquial" touch to it. Therefore, my "corrections" are actually suggestions for you to think about; you can either embrace or dismiss them =)
